A Hubby for Christmas

I received the world's best early Christmas present this year. My hubby!  He was able to come home on leave a few days before Christmas and you could not have found a happier wife.  It was wonderful having Hubby home.

We spent Christmas eve driving to my parents house and attended church with my family (my sister was also at my parents' home from college.)  After church my parents hosted my husband's aunt and uncle for dinner and we all had a chance to catch up.  Christmas day was wonderful and I reveled in the fact that my entire family was together, something that likely will not happen again for awhile.  Hubby and I both received some wonderful gifts.  The day after Christmas, Hubby's sister drove to the town my parents live in to meet up with us.  He had not seen her since our wedding and she brought her husband and three boys with her.  Not only did he get to see his sister though... Hubby's mom, dad, and younger sister surprised us by showing up out of the blue.  They had booked a last minute flight and hopped on a plane arriving only shortly before meeting us.  While I would have appreciated some advance notice, Hubby was happy to see them and I was happy that he was happy.  My parents graciously hosted his mom, dad, and younger sister for dinner and hubby had some time to spend with them.  The next day we drove home to spend the remaining time of Hubby's leave one on one.

I cannot tell you how amazing it was just to snuggle up next to Hubby on the couch and watch a movie, to curl up in his arms to sleep, and to feel his kisses on my lips.  It's the little things you miss the most.  We didn't DO a whole lot per se but we spent a lot of time just being with each other and enjoying the fact that we were together.  The time passed much to quickly and unfortunately for most of it I came down with a pretty bad case of allergies :(  We did our best to enjoy the time though.

I had to give Hubby back long before I was ready.   I thought watching him board the plane might break me but here I am.  I miss him already but I will continue to strive for patient hope.  I can't wait to have him  back for good.  Hubby will be ETSing (for those not fluent in militerese this means out processing) from the army this summer so hopefully this will be the last extensive separation that we will have to endure.

Thanks for making my Christmas wish come true baby!  You were the best gift I ever could have received!
